Financial education and mentoring

Empowering women
to
take care of their finances. And everyone else who wants to join them.

I started Hello Finances to help close the gender wealth gap. It has become a community for everyone who wants to feel clearer, more confident, and in control of their money – starting wherever they are.

Why it matters

You are not behind,
the
system is

In all the conversations I had, one thing stood out: barely anyone is getting the most out of their money, no matter how much they earn. Our economy is designed to help us spend, not build the life we want. Marketing is everywhere. Our culture quietly equates buying things with self-care. Financial literacy is not taught in schools. And the consequences are impactful. People are trapped in jobs they don’t like and millions are sleepwalking toward pension poverty, with no safety net or awareness.

For women, structural forces add another dimension. The motherhood penalty and gender pay gap mean women have less to invest and less time for that money to grow. Add a financial industry that tailors educational resources to a male audience, and the result is a gender wealth gap that reaches almost 40% by pension age. Not because women are less capable, but because the system was not built for them.

Regaining a sense of control starts with awareness and education. The ripple effects will reach far beyond our own wellbeing, touching our families, friends, and wider communities. In fact, for society to flourish, our financial resilience matters. It anchors us to our values, gives us space to reflect, and allows us to make decisions that are truly our own.

What financial awareness and clarity can give you

Money can't buy happiness. But it can buy you choices: how you spend your time, where you live, what you say yes (and no) to.

Freedom can come in many forms:

Time – write that book, spend afternoons with your kids, travel the world, or retire early.

Independence – the freedom to change career, choose where you want to live, leave that toxic work environment, or support the causes close to your heart.

Equality – feeling empowered to manage your own finances, grow your own money, and make well informed choices.

Financial freedom shouldn't be a privilege. It should be common practice. And it starts smaller than you think, with awareness, education, and one step at a time.

Money isn't the goal. Money is a tool to achieve your goals, and ultimately give you more choices. And financial education is the key that unlocks it.

Passing on knowledge and building confidence

Alix, Founder of Hello Finances

For a long time, I followed the route I had been given: work hard, earn well, build the life you can afford. Then get promoted, earn more, spend more. Until I paused and asked myself: what changes if I start aligning my money with my goals and values?

For almost a decade I have been building my own financial freedom – one small step at a time, far from perfect, but making steady progress. When I started sharing what I learned with friends and family, I realised how much of a difference simple, clear frameworks and practical tools can make. Seeing the transformation in people made me want to share it more widely.

Hello Finances exists to pass on that knowledge and build confidence in women, and everyone else, who is ready to feel calmer, clearer, and in control of their money.
